SERIES 9002 High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Door

SPECIFICATIONS

Part 1 General

1.01 Work Included - Sectional overhead doors shall be as supplied by GADCO and as shown on plans.

1.02 Related Work - Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access panels, field painting, field electrical wiring, etc. are in the Scope of Work of other divisions of trade.

Part 2 Product

2.01 Sections - Sections shall have framing of heavy extruded aluminum. The bottom rail of all sections and the top rail of the top section shall have a heavy 1-7/8” reinforcing flange with a 90 degree lip to provide rigidity. Vertical stiles shall be prepunched to accept hex washer head, thread forming screws, used to attach hardware. Hollow panel inserts shall be thermoformed of high density polyethylene (HDPE) to form a maintenance free, rugged, impact resistant thermal barrier. The horizontal meeting edges of each section shall interlock with adjacent sections. Overall thickness of sections shall be 1-3/4”.

2.02 Track - 2” or 3” track shall be heavy gauge galvanized steel. A wedge type closing action will be accomplished with adjustable vertical track. Vertical track shall be attached to jambs with 12 gauge adjustable brackets or continuous angle. Horizontal track shall be reinforced with heavy galvanized steel angle. 3” track is optional.

2.03 Hardware - Shall be heavy gauge galvanized steel. Rollers shall have a continuous steel race encasing 10 (ten) hardened 1/4” diameter steel ball bearings. All hinges, brackets and fixtures shall be attached securely to the stiles with special carriage bolts.

2.04 Struts - Struts are 20 gauge standard one per section.

2.05 Counterbalance- Counterbalance shall be oil tempered and helical wound torsion springs engineered to comply with industry standard 10,000 cycles, extended cycle life optional. (Reference ANSI/DASMA 102)

Part 3 Execution

3.01 Installation - Install the doors in accordance with General American Door Company instructions and standards. Installation will be by authorized General American Door Company representatives.

GADCO LIMITED WARRANTY

General American Door (GADCO) warrants to the original purchase that each commercial sectional door will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year following the date of purchase, excepting normal wear and tear, abuse, misuse or accident. Labor charges for replacement not included.
