WARRANTY:
If any of the parts or materials used in manufacturing your Presidential Series door become defective within one year of date of purchase, your door will be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer at its option. All doors must be properly sealed and maintained in accordance with the one year limited warranty. See your dealer for details.
CARE: To comply with General American Door Company's warranty, your door (s) must be finished with a product that will protect the wood from ultraviolet light and weather; yet allow the door to breathe, within (48) forty-eight hours after delivery. Doors not installed immediately after delivery or stored as inventory may warp due to their weight and void the warranty.
Place thoroughly dry door sections on a flat surface for painting or staining. NOT on the ground or floor. Support the length of the sections to avoid bowing.
For best results when painting, use a high quality exterior grade oil-based or acrylic paint. Do NOT use polyurethane, marine varnish or other varnishes as they will hold water and rot your door from the inside out. One finish coat of paint over the primer will provide good protection as long as all surfaces are covered. If the door is to be stained, use an oil-based, semi-transparent stain that will penetrate the door's surface. Do not use a latex based stain as it will not penetrate the wood and will leave a film that can peel off the door. One coat of stain will provide good protection as long as all surfaces are covered.
